Relaxation Clause - Corona
A birth of new type of Athletes Contracts
Surfing has always been more than just a sport; it’s a lifestyle and a pursuit of a mental state connected to health and nature.
However, in a world that moves faster and faster, where immediacy is prioritized, processes are set aside, and only achievements are valued, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain that essence.
This is a challenge not only for surfing and its athletes but for all sportspeople, at every level. In this context, the support from brands and sponsors becomes crucial for the professional development and well-being of athletes.
Corona encourages people to live more outdoors, to connect with nature, and to enjoy moments of relaxation.
With this in mind, at Jogo., together with Corona Cero, we created the “Corona Cero Clause,” a contractual clause that redefines sponsorship agreements in the sports world, guaranteeing periods of relaxation without compromising contractual ties.
The Corona Cero Clause encourages moments of disconnection, showing that taking care of well-being is just as important as winning.
Now, athletes like Gabriel Medina, Tatiana Weston-Webb, Pedro Scooby, and Chloé Calmon will have guaranteed rest breaks in their contracts.
To celebrate the Corona Clause and our partnership with the athletes, we invited shaper Ronaldo (@m.shapes), who helped us create personalized and exclusive surfboards for each of them. Each board was designed not only to fit the athletes' body types and surfing styles but also to allow them to try something new. The goal was to give them a moment free from the rigid parameters of competition, letting them focus on surfing just for fun.
